- James A Connors Associates, Inc. began as the Fred A. Barbanes Agency which was incorporated in 1925. Mr. James A. Connors, Sr. joined Fred A. Barbanes Agency in 1962. After managing the business for ten years, Mr. Connors purchased the agency in 1972, renaming it James A. Connors Associates, Inc. to reflect his heritage and desire for serving clients’ needs with a team approach.
- As owner and principal, Mr. Connors set out to establish a reputation of extraordinary personal and professional service.
- His high standards were recognized by the industry when he was named President of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New Jersey, a professional trade organization representing independent insurance agents and brokers throughout New Jersey.
- Mr. James A. Connors, Jr. joined the agency in 1986. After 16 years of experience, the reins were officially turned over to him as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2002.
- Under his leadership, James A. Connors Associates, Inc. acquired Horton Fine Insurance Agency in Califon, Hunterdon County, New Jersey and Stern and Dragoset Associates, Inc. in Edison, Middlesex County, New Jersey.
- In 2005 the headquarters was moved to our current, larger location in Morristown, New Jersey.
- Mr. James P. Stanek, CIC joined the agency as Senior Vice President, Sales in 2012.
- In 2013 Mr. Stanek was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
- The Connors Consulting Solutions office in Clovis, Fresno County, California was opened in 2019 under Mr. Stanek’s leadership.
- Today James A Connors Associates Inc. provides world class insurance, benefits and consulting solutions from across the street to across the country.
The agency was founded on the principles of offering professional, honest and personal service to all our clients - a tradition and key driver to our success since 1925 – and will continue for generations to come.
