2013 Toys for Tots Campaign Exceeds Expectations!

James A. Connors Associates participated in this year's Toys for Tots Campaign and had its best year ever with 1,097 toys. This is 386 more than last year. The campaign which originally started in 2006 in the Califon office collected 263 toys. Their numbers increase each year due to the generosity of friends, family, employees, and the surrounding communities. All years combined, the agency has collected over 4,600 toys. The main objective of the campaign is to help the less fortunate children that would not have a holiday otherwise.

The Marine’s objective is to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

We acknowledge all our employees from our Morristown, Califon, and Edison offices. Happy Holidays!

Cyber Security – at the forefront of risks feared by the boardroom

Whether a large or small business, the fear of cyber crime is on the minds of people in the corner offices.  The sands have shifted, and cyber risk is no longer a tactical issue, relegated to the IT department, but rather at the forefront of the minds of C level individuals in companies throughout the world.

While security measures and the tools available to fight cyber crime have increased, so has the sophistication of the cyber thieves.  Cyber crime syndicates are hiring the best and the brightest talent – and paying them handsomely.  The rewards are great – there is big money to be made selling intellectual property and customer data.

A recent study by a major insurance company found only 38% of companies said their cyber security is aligned with their organizations risk management.  In addition to investments in security and training companies have increasingly found transferring some of the risk through cyber security insurance to be the best option.

Cyber security is not a fad, with more and more of the things we do today being digital, the exposures will continue to escalate.  And, the costs are not just financial, but reputational.  What would the impact be on your business if there was a data breach tomorrow?

Don’t become a statistic.  Let us review your exposure to risk in this important area to ensure you are protected.

Russ Trowbridge Receives 2013 Five Star Insurance Professional Award

Five Star Professional conducts research to help consumers with the important decision of selecting a service professional. The Five Star award is presented to wealth managers, real estate agents, mortgage professionals and home/auto insurance professionals in more than 45 markets in the U.S. and Canada. The Five Star award goes to service professionals who provide quality services to their clients. The Five Star Professional research team applies a vigorous research and evaluation process to identify service professionals who provide quality services to their clients. Professionals do not pay a fee to be considered or placed on the final list of Five Star award winners.

The Five Star Home/Auto Insurance Professional Program is designed to identify home/auto insurance professionals in a given market who satisfy objective criteria that are associated with providing quality services to clients.

Award candidates are identified through nominations received by consumers. To receive the Five Star Home/Auto Insurance Professional award, a home/auto insurance professional must satisfy five objective eligibility and evaluation criteria that are associated with home/auto insurance professionals who provide quality services to their clients. The award process is conducted annually in each market. Homeowners (all area residents who purchased a home over $100,000 - $200,000 within an eight to 36-month period, depending on the market size) are asked to evaluate home/auto insurance professionals with whom they have worked and evaluate them based upon five criteria. Self-nominations are not accepted.

In order to be named a Five Star Home/Auto Insurance Professional, an individual must hold a current insurance license and be in good standing. The final list of Five Star Home/Auto Insurance Professionals includes less than 7% of the home/auto insurance professionals in a market.

In the March issue of New Jersey Monthly magazine, Russ Trowbridge is featured as a 2013 Five Star Insurance Professional for excelling in customer satisfaction. This is the second consecutive Five Star Insurance Professional Award received by Russ.
