Ms. Surano began her career in the insurance industry in 1982 after spending some time as an administrative assistant for a family business.
She joined James A. Connors Associates, Inc. in 2001 as a customer service representative (CSR) where she began by managing her own book of commercial lines and personal lines business while overseeing much of the agency’s key accounts. Her diligent work habits and pleasant demeanor led to her promotion to personal lines manager in 2003.Today, Ms. Surano manages twelve employees throughout three offices and is responsible for the customer service, claims, clerical and marketing staff. She also continues to manage her book of business consisting of many long term and faithful clients.
Ms. Surano’s career began at O’Gorman & Young, Inc. in Chatham, New Jersey as an administrative assistant. While there she learned every aspect of the insurance business and decided to expand her horizon into the fields of sales and service. Donna and her husband were bitten by the entrepreneurial “bug” in 1985 and opened their own insurance agency, Corporate Coverages, Inc. in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. She shared sales responsibilities with her husband while acting as the CSR and running the office. After fourteen years of successful growth, Corporate Coverages, Inc. was sold to Traber and Vreeland, Inc. in Randolph, New Jersey.
Ms. Surano joined the Madison, New Jersey branch of Traber and Vreeland, Inc. as office manager where she continued to service commercial and personal line accounts as well as various specialty business and high-value accounts.
Ms. Surano has lived in Basking Ridge, New Jersey since 1985 where she has raised her family and is active in the community. She served on the Chatham Emergency Squad as an EMS technician for over ten years and served as a volunteer CPR instructor for Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. Donna enjoys swimming, boating, cooking and has a love for good wine. She is also an avid fundraiser for many breast cancer organizations.
