Mr. “Ted” Ciamillo joined James A. Connors Associates, Inc. in Morristown, New Jersey in 2017 as Marketing Director focused on middle and large market commercial accounts.
Mr. Ciamillo is a seasoned property and casualty insurance professional with more than thirty years industry involvement including an extensive underwriting, sales and leadership background complimented by retail and wholesale brokerage experience.
Specific business expertise includes: property; general liability; workers compensation; automobile; inland marine; umbrella; marketing; customer relations; compliance; and quality assurance.
Prior to joining James A. Connors Associates, Inc. Mr. Ciamillo served as Underwriting Manager for Samsung Fire & Marine Management in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. Mr. Ciamillo managed a team of new and renewal underwriters and was directly responsible for agency management, marketing, production, self-audits and staff training.
Mr. Ciamillo’s experience also includes serving as Senior Production Manager for Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group in Warren, New Jersey. Responsibilities included production and management of middle market business as well as more complex risks including diverse domestic and Japanese core businesses.
Mr. Ciamillo’s underwriting skills were honed as a middle market underwriter for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company in Liberty Corner, New Jersey in the early 2000’s by underwriting risks in the real estate, distribution, restaurant, hotel and manufacturing sectors.
While working with Crum & Foster Insurance in Parsippany, New Jersey Mr. Ciamillo managed a group of underwriting specialists and developed a large casualty business focusing mainly in the construction industry.
Mr. Ciamillo’s career began with Wausau Insurance Companies in West Orange, New Jersey as commercial lines casualty underwriter successfully underwriting and marketing casualty insurance programs to an assigned group of brokers and direct sales representatives. Mr. Ciamillo specialized in guaranteed cost programs in the construction industry featuring workers compensation, business automobile, general liability, and commercial umbrella coverages.
Mr. Ciamillo earned a bachelor of arts in Economics from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.
During leisure time, Mr. Ciamillo enjoys riding waves at the shore with his wife and three sons and coaching the boys as an assistant coach for baseball and football.
